Annual Band Concert, Dinner and Auction Wrap up and ThanksThe 2012-2013 Aledo Band Boosters Annual Dinner and Auction was huge success - with the money raised from this event it will greatly benefit all the Aledo ISD band students throughout the year. We would like to thank Babe's Chicken House for a wonderful dinner as well as all our other community sponsors, volunteers and parents for their continuous support. A special thanks to our band directors and bands for a great night of entertainment! We look forward to seeing you again next year! Marti Shafer Auction Coordinator TMEA All State BandFebruary 16 The Texas Music Educators Association was held Saturday, February 16, and five outstanding Aledo musicians were there to represent the district and the Bearcat Regiment in the competition. They were: junior TJ W., first chair Tuba; freshman Noah R., first chair Euphonium; senior Wills W., fourth chair Trombone; sophomore Georgia J., fifth chair Trombone; and sophomore Randye-Nicoel H., second chair French Horn in the 5A Philharmonic Orchestra. Congratulations! AMS Band Takes Over at All-Region AuditionsOut of the 26 schools participating in the Middle School All-Region Band competition, and the more than 900 students who entered, only 203 were selected by judges to comprise the All-Region Band. Of those, about one-third of them are band students from Aledo Middle School! Ten of the AMS seventh and eighth graders were named to first-chair positions for their respective instruments. They are: Cameron, tenor sax; Mary, baritone; Garrett, tuba; Parker, trumpet; Grant, percussion; Sarah, bassoon; Kara, oboe; Tommio, trombone; John Allen, bari saxophone; and Kristen, French horn.
