Should my student bring his/her instrument the fist day?

No instruments on day one. We will start talking about them on Tuesday .

How often should my student be practicing a day?

30 minutes per day 5 days per week

What is "E-Practice", and how do I access it?

We will not be using epractice at the Intermediate this year. We will use regular paper journals and hopefully be able to adapt our practice journals into smartmusic eventually .

What happens if my student's horn needs repair?

Please bring it to the directors attention first. Sometimes we can repair minor things without having to send it in to the repair shop. Most repairs usually don't take long to fix if you take it to Johnny Paul's Music Shop on Bankhead Hwy here in Aledo.

Are private lessons important? If so, how do I find a good tutor?

Private lessons are extremely important to the success the student and the band program. Currently we have over 200 students in the private lesson program in Aledo. To find a tutor you can go to the AMEP page.

What is Extravabanza?

Extravabandza is our first public concert. We get to play in the stands with the middle and high school bands. As well as play a song on the field during halftime.

How can I help with various band events?

There are times I will ask for help at different events through the monthly newsletter via email.

What do I do if I want to chaperon a band trip?

I will ask for help when it gets closer to the trip time by newsletter via email. There will be a criminal background form that will need to be filled out before you can chaperone. I will have those available when the time comes.
