Band Booster's Auction and Dinner Wrapup

The 2012 Aledo Band Boosters Annual Dinner and Auction was huge success ~ we raised over $21,000 which will greatly benefit all the Aledo ISD band students throughout the year. We would also like to thank Babe's Chicken House for a wonderful dinner as well as all our other community sponsors, volunteers and parents for their continuous support. A special thanks to our band directors and bands for a great night of entertainment! We look forward to seeing you again next year!

On The Border Night Fundraiser

Our monthly fundraiser at On The Border, Bryant Irvin is on Sunday, February 5. The Aledo Band Boosters will receive 20% of your food and drink purchases from open to close (11 am to 10 pm). Please share the flyer with your family and friends and ask them to eat at On The Border on Sunday, February 5th.

You must present the flyer to the waitress for the Boosters to get credit for the visit.

Cinnabon Fundraiser

deadline February 3, 2012

Sweets for Your Sweetie are available for Valentine's Day. Buy a gift certificate good for 1 package of 6 Cinnabons redeemable at the Bryant Irvin Schlotzsky's location. Cost is $14 per package.
Order on the attached form between Monday, January 30 and Friday, February 3. All orders must be in band hall by 4 pm Friday. No late orders will be accepted. Pickup for the certificates is Monday, February 13.

Record Eight AHS Band Students Named to All-State Band

This past weekend, 30 AHS band students (a record number) went to Midland to compete at the TMEA Area B Contest in hopes of earning the chance to become an All-State Band member. Of those, a record of eight AHS students achieved this goal. They are:

5A All State Band
Natasha C., senior (flute)
Laura G., senior (flute)

4A All State Band
Kaitlin W., senior (clarinet)
Hannah D., senior (bass clarinet)
Ryan P., junior (trumpet)
Randye-Nicoel H., freshman (french horn)
Wills W., junior (trombone)
Hunter T. , senior (percussion)

Several Aledo students have achieved All-State status since the band program started in the mid-1970s. In this year's elite group, Natasha C. reached this status for three straight years. Ryan P., Hunter T. and Laura G. also are repeat State winners.
